The Kushner Declaration
On the 108th Anniversary of the Balfour Declaration an imagined equivalent from Kushner.
The 2nd November 2025 marks the 108th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration that implicitly paved the way for “Jewish Zionist aspirations” (sic).
108 years later - imagine Trump’s real envoy Jared Kushner issues a similar declaration to that Balfour issued under British PM Lloyd George.
Change the wording slightly and it’s the unspoken Zionist agreement - with the 1917 “Zionist Federation” now the “World Zionist Organisation” - who has just had its 39th Congress in Jerusalem 28-30th October1.
I wonder if someone conveyed the Kushner Declaration to the Congress?

Dear Lord Rothschild
I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty’s Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet.
“His Majesty’s Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.”
I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation.

I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of my father-in-law, the following declaration of completion of Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, his Administration.
“The US Government view with favour the abolishment of Gaza and the West Bank and replacing them with a national home for the Israeli people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.”
As Governor of the Board of Peace I will personally oversee the transition.
I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the World Zionist Organisation.

Truth stranger than fiction?
Alright. Kushner didn’t issue a declaration. And even if he did he’s hardly likely to have it read in front of the World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem.
It’s the quiet bit that’s NOT spoken out loud yet….
Trump’s “official” policy remains to date that there will be no annexation of the West Bank. Even if his major donor got what she wanted last time - a US Embassy move - and openly talked of this next ask on the campaign trail2.
We’ll see how long people’s memories are or perhaps what quietly happens whilst a distracting say Venezuelan War is in play..
As to Gaza - a 20 point peace plan which seems to guarantee sovereignty. But again, the devil is in the detail here.
And who has the biggest interest in Gaza waterfront properties?

Kushner might as well have brazenly issued a real declaration and let the cat out the bag.

Israel must be treated as South Africa was during apartheid and systematically boycotted until there is institutional, legal and societal change in Israel. This must extend to diaspora - and be Jewish led - and their enablers.
That’s the STOP BOYCOTT condition that must be clear to all institutions including most recently UEFA in conducting such exclusions - a just and sustainable peace must be the end state to agree to lift sanctions on Israel not just a short-term sop that suits Israel and the US.
Edinburgh University Chancellor Lord Balfour was also author of the 1917 Balfour Declaration - for which the University apologised. Or did it? (first published Dec 18 2023).
