They say “don’t engage with pro-Israel apologists - they won’t ever listen and come up with the same arguments”.
Unfortunately I am autistic. I have a need for order - which means correcting incorrect data. And these guys are full of it.
And so - for correcting the BS of two prominent pro-Israel hasbara hustlers over the Gaza crisis - I wear the badge of honour of the bloxed set (?) of being blocked by both.
The inspiration for writing this was noting a comment by one of these pro-Israel apologists on someone else’s feed - and discovering I had been blocked (as at time of writing April 2025). I had no idea how long for and didn’t even notice their posts weren’t appearing on my feeds.
But got me thinking why … apart from most probably swatting an annoying autistic fly - they can’t handle the truth.
Which is more apparent when you consider the content and issues in just some of their tweets.
Update 7 Jun: And case in point - the disgusting content of Filud’s hasbara over the last two years has got him banned from Australia. He was due to speak at a charity fundraiser in Australia next week but the Government announced his visa was pulled late Saturday night Australia time. Not for the event itself - despite hissy fit outrage - but for the inciteful content of his tweets. Awaiting the local hasbara to pick up on this from Sunday morning.

2. Sleekit guidelines for social media replies and the arse waiver
First off - my guidelines of engagement when commenting on social media which I try to stick to (hence not “rules”). As my Ca’Canny disclaimer - I may break these from time to time in moments of keyboard warrior madness, and happy to be corrected/apologise as appropriate. Honest.
The guide:
calling out agreement as appropriate when fair points made - “I have a different overall view, but you raise a good point here”
any corrections in commentary - typically a graphic or brief statement as social media allows - have referenced data points backing up
no swearing - FFS, BS fine !
no personal comments …. although to be fair, my immaturity does get in the way from time to time as exception … I’m sure “SLEEKIT” probably means “ASSHOLE” in Hebrew (פי הטבעת) … as it does unfortunately the other way around for Mr. Ostrovsky’s forename in British English.
Which brought to mind a fairly niche simile - “ARSE!” being a common cry from an obscure side character stricken with Tourette’s syndrome in a 1990’s wonderfully politically incorrect British comedy series “The Fast Show”1. To be fair - it received some exposure since Johnny Depp was a massive fan and actually appeared in one of the sketches2.
Iconic sketch reproduced below - “Country Matters with Bob Fleming” (he has a “slight” cough) with special guest Clive Tucker (Tourettes). Indulge me:
As a side note - I do know the approximate Arabic for “arse” in a derogatory context. I discovered this during a pro-Palestine protest rally in Sydney in December 2023 where I asked a fellow protestor what عربي on their sign said. Her reply was all the more hilarious by the Scots and the Irish having almost exactly the same common phrase in Gaelic - “póg mo thóin” - oft used to cut authority figures down to size with a wee smile! 😉
Regardless, in this instance I do think an arse waiver is warranted particularly due to the tweet review that follows.
3. Hillel Fuld
Self-presenting as a “tech dandy” who fluctuates between obnoxious untruths and cheap opportunism.
I hadn’t noticed Fuld had blocked me until reviewing a post from him on someone else’s feed. The blocking after the other pro-Israel apologist’s earlier blocking was inspiration for this article.
To be fair - Fuld occasionally did write the odd thoughtful narrative - which I was actually happy to agree with on his posts - “I have a different overall view, but you make a good point here”. Why worth following - to get the different perspective.
However - some of his more unpleasant posts are below.
3.1 Digs at the Squad
Fuld seems to enjoy regular digs at the only members of Congress speaking out against Israel’s actions - the “Squad”. First off the images below.
The image on the left of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used by Fuld to mock her is actually of her listening to the testimony of a Guatemalan mother in 2019 whose infant daughter died in a US detention facility the previous year3. Classy.
The image on the right of Representative Rashida Tlaib is in Congress during Benjamin Netanyahu’s July 2024 visit and address. The sign of course has been doctored - the original saying “Guilty of Genocide” and held up by a member of the House with a conscience.
Israel via AIPAC has of course taken action against the Squad.
In 2024 AIPAC money was used against the squad and others who spoke out or voted against Israel in Congress during the Gaza crisis.
This was through backing opponents or even fellow party members in primary votes - notably spending $15M on George Latimer4.
After Squad incumbent Jamaal Boman was the first member of Congress to question Israel’s narrative of beheaded babies on October 7th (now of course proven to be completely false) Israel decided he had to go in the upcoming primary.
AIPAC promoted a new candidate George Latimer to campaign against Congressman Bowman. In November he was flown to Israel to meet President Hertzog5.
AIPAC laterally spent $15M on his primary - the most EVER spent on a primary election covering 90% of his funding. Plus soft funding through indirect attack ads, people out on the streets - Latimer won by 17%6.
AIPAC openly boasted of spending over $110M USD directly (and who knows how much in soft dollars) to defend pro-Israel politicians and oust those speaking out against Israel in the 2024 election cycle.
Moral of the story spouted by Fuld? Don’t question the IDF version of the “truth”. So many times since then have these “truths” - including the beheaded babies BS called out by Jamaal Bowman - been found to be utter fabrications.
But that’s not going to stop a pro-Israel hasbara hustler like Filud.
3.2 Rubbishing the Rafah firebombing of May 2024
Fuld rubbishes the Israeli firebombing of the tents of Rafah refugee camp - literally burning people alive (for the first time in the conflict - and I can’t believe I’ve had to just write that).
All to have a cheap shot at journalist Piers Morgan - who called this out even thought at the time (May 2024) he was staunchly pro-Israel otherwise (one year to the day later at the time of writing Piers has “magically” turned the corner and along with others calling Israel’s actions now a genocide).
3.3 Meeting a US Governor at Adelson’s table
Fuld was snapped in 2019 attending a Republican fundraised by the late Sheldon Adelson in Israel7. He is shaking hands with then Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and in the background in a yellow tie is Representative Randy Fine8.
After Elon Musk the Adelsons are the largest donators to Trump. They bankrolled his 2016 campaign and administration to the tune of $424M USD.
The prize for their donations during Trump’s term? The move of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognising the Golan Heights as part of Israel and a Medal of Freedom for Sheldon’s wife (much to the chagrin of fellow recipients and the awarding committee).
Sheldon died in 2021, and his widow Miriam donated $100M to Trump’s 2024 campaign and was front-and-centre at his inauguration in November.
The 2024 prize from Trump? Apparently annexation of the West Bank9.
Watch this space.
3.4 Cheap, opportunistic exploitation of the Holocaust
One of Fuld’s offensive posts in particular really irked me. This was a (since deleted) post where he launched on his online store a “Jude” gold star brand of clothing, thoughtfully adding a discount code.
This was some months after the world Holocaust remembrance centre Yad Vashem had called out the then Israel Ambassador to the UN Gilhan Erhed for wearing a gold star into the chamber - “This act disgraces the victims of the Holocaust as well as the state of Israel”10.
Shameless behaviour from Fuld.
3.5 An ironic turn of phrase
Trying to be clever but failing with the reality. Enough said.
4. Arsen Ostsrovsky
A self-important little man, full of vitriol, ironically self-describing as a “human rights lawyer”.
I did note Ostrovsky blocked me - immediately after posting a correction to one of his posts whilst he was in the UK (March 2025).
4.1 A side room at Westminster presented as “addressing the British Parliament”
Or … “addressing Parliament or just addressing a room?”
Shortly after posting a hilarious “Anchorman” picture of himself in a library with a self-important caption (“my apartment is filled with books and smells of rich mahogany”) he posted a picture of himself claiming to be “addressing the British Parliament”.
In fact - he was addressing a small number of people from the Conservative Friends of Israel in a small function room albeit in the Houses of Parliament (easy to do: I’ve been to quite a few functions in the HoP myself including a 1:1 lunch with a House of Lords MP and I don’t have one leather-bound book).
I had just posted a substack article on Conservative former UK Foreign Secretary Sir Alan Duncan11 - who spoke out on Palestine, was accused falsely of antisemitism (surprise surprise) essentially to gag him during the UK election campaign, was cleared - and then spoke literally with a vengeance - specifically attacking the manipulative “Conservative Friends of Israel” and their pro-Israel benefactors (see article here also quoted in “Further Reading” below).
The same “honourable” group that Ostrovsky was addressing.
So when the Arse (* slap *) ..… Mr. Ostrovsky posted his self-important BS - it was worth correcting - with a video of Sir Alan Duncan on Conservative Friends of Israel.
The result? Immediately blocked.
Probably a good thing.
4.2 Washington, UK under the bus and rubbishing starvation
Some other choice posts from Ostrovsky:
abusing Representative Rashida Tlaib - the only Representative who stood up to Netanyahu during his visit. Ostrovsky was in Washington for Netanyahu’s first July 2024 address and couldn’t resist this dig at her. I wonder who paid for his flight?
Second - the UK on-side - support when it suits. Abuse the next. To be fair Keir Starmer’s UK Labor Government was in power at that point. Though equally infiltrated by pro-Israel apologists (Labour Friends of Israel for one) clearly Ostrovsky had a soft spot for the Conservatives12.
And third - an obnoxious rubbishing of UNRWA pointing out the Gaza humanitarian crisis through Israel’s blockade January 2025 - recognised through the world as genuine but not by Ostrovsky.
Ostrovsky fluctuates between praise for world leaders and countries showing support for Israel one minute, then throwing them under the bus the next. This comment on Macron is very notable with the broader historical context.
4.3 Bribery for peace talks - 2024 and 1991
Here’s a doozy. There were several “attempts at ceasefire” and mediations in the Gaza crisis throughout 2024. We know now this was all bullshit since:
Netanyahu was merely holding out for a Trump victory to give him carte blanche to do what he wanted. Which he’s almost getting away with at the time of writing (May 2025).
Biden was too far gone in terms of his senility - and pro-Israel Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was steering the ship in Israel’s favour
The US administration never once made real attempts at ceasefire despite assurances they were “working behind the scenes” - read Blinken above.
Incidentally Blinken gave his final swansong press conference to a room full of journalists on 15 Jan 2025 ahead of Trump’s inauguration on the 19th. A number of reporters quite rightly called him out on his complete lack of action on Gaza, and continued enablement of Israel with weasling words13. He was essentially a pro-Israel caretaker to Trumps’ administration.
You can just imagine Trump and his Press Secretary watching this saying “this shit is never going down with me” - and like all policies in the administration - taking it to the extreme.
4.3.1 Peace talks with Hezbollah (2024) - at Israel’s price
One such ceasefire proposed in November 2024 was that in the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon. This was a low-grade concession for Israel since at that point Hezbollah infrastructure and leadership had been effectively destroyed through an assault beginning with the infamous exploding pager strikes on 17 Sep, then extensive attacks on sites all over Lebanon including carpet bombing of areas of Beirut leading the death of Hezbollah’s leader Nazrallah on 28 September.
Strikes since then were “mopping up” with little risk to Israel.
There was talk of a formal ceasefire which would have required France to mediate.
Netanyahu refused to allow France’s essential participation in peace discussions unless they promised to renege on their ICC obligations and publicly state they would not arrest him if he set foot in France14.
A condition not lost on Ostrovsky:
Which reminded me of another “bribery for peace talks” condition Israel pulled in the past.
4.3.2 Peace talks with the world (1991) - at Israel’s price
After the first Gulf War in 1990 Bush Senior was keen to ensure stability in the Middle East. As such a series of talks were proposed in Madrid in 1991 with regional nations including Israel.
Sensing leverage, Israel refused to attend the talks unless a United Nations General Assembly resolution from 1975 was formally rescinded15.
Let’s have a look at that resolution in some more detail.
The resolution in question was 3379 (XXX) - “Elimination of all forms of racial discrimination”16. It referenced several declarations that year from various international forums:
World Conference of International Women - the Declaration of Mexico, Mexico City July 1975: "international cooperation and peace require the achievement of national liberation and independence, the elimination of colonialism and neo-colonialism, foreign occupation, zionism, apartheid and racial discrimination in all its forms, as well as the recognition of the dignity of peoples and their right to self-determination"
Heads of State declaration at the 12th Organisation of African Unity at Kampala August 1975: “that the racist regime in occupied Palestine and the racist regimes in Zimbabwe and South Africa have a common imperialist origin, forming a whole and having the same racist structure and being organically linked in their policy aimed at repression of the dignity and integrity of the human being"
Conference of Minsters for Foreign Affairs for Non-Aligned Countries, Lima, August 1975: “which most severely condemned zionism as a threat to world peace and security and called upon all countries to oppose this racist and imperialist ideology”
The UN motion concluded with a declaration that “zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination”. Here is the actual vote on the resolution taken in the days of more basic technology:
Taking a step back - can you imagine the UN being so forthright in its criticism nowadays? It is essentially echoing the truth-to-power of pro-Palestine protest - addressing the root cause of the latest atrocity by Israel.
As the UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in address on October 24th 2023 referring to the terrible events of the 7th - “this did not happen in a vacuum”.
A statement of reality and balanced from his full remarks17 - but was met with outrage in Israel. And later unbelievably - Israel declared the Secretary-General of the United Nations to be persona non grata who would be arrested on sight should he try to enter Israel18. Israel said they felt he did not condemn Iran’s retaliatory missile attacks on Israel strongly enough. Utter nonsense of course, and the UN Security Council made a statement shortly after condemning Israel’s actions and backing the Secretary-General19.
If these aren’t the actions of a rogue state in the diplomatic arena, what are? And why aren’t they being punished? In this or any arena.
Back to the 1975 resolution.
Clearly this irked Israel over many years to say the least. In Australia, pro-Israel uber lobbyist Mark Leibler boasted in a leaked document of how he lobbied the Australian Government in 1986 to assist in rescinding the resolution20.
Resolution 3379 was finally rescinded in 199121. The trigger was a desire to have Israel cemented as a strong ally in the Middle East post the 1991 Gulf War in Kuwait.
President HW Bush personally addressed the issue in his speech at the 46th annual session of the UN General Assembly in 199122. He appealed to specifically to rescind the motion in his speech. This was later enacted in a plenary meeting vote vote 88-25 (with 28 abstentions or absences).
4.3.3 The form
As with Macron 33 years later in 2024 - bribery for peace talks. No guarantees. Wholeheartedly agreed with by Ostrovsky, called out by me.
The 2024 bribery of Macron was to secure a guarantee of non-co-operation by France with the ICC over Netanyahu’s arrest warrants - to set a global example with control over a UN Security Council legacy permanent member. The 1991 rescind of Resolution 3229 was to remove the truth of the reality of Israel’s nature as a racist, apartheid state from the record.
A truth that the ICJ finally affirmed in a legal advisory in a July 2024 ruling23, enacted by a UN General Assembly Resolution in September 202424. Non-legally binding since of course the only chamber to pass legally binding UN Resolutions - the UN Security Council - will never vote against Israel due to the US permanent member veto. Locked in since Israel’s admission to the UN in 1949 - quite logically on Israel’s part - through AIPAC funding of the majority of the US Congress.
At the time of writing the occupation will be discussed in a June 2025 conference - noting the UN gave a one year timeline with a date of September 2025 for Israel to comply with a complete withdrawal.
Tragically in reality Israel’s compliance essentially hinges on the whim of Trump.
4.4 Jumping to conclusions in Sydney
In Sydney April 2024 there was a horrific attack by a man armed with a knife who killed six people and injured many more at Bondi Junction shopping mall25.
Ostrovsky - who emigrated from Russia to Sydney aged 7 and was educated there before moving to Israel - was quick to comment on the incident in his home town. He shared posts accusing an “Islamic terrorist” of the attack and continued to post on the terrorist narrative.
The actual perpetrator turned out to be a white Australian from Queensland.
And of course we know he wasn’t declared a terrorist.
4.5 The world stage awaits: Ostrovsky is the intern
Woah. And in researching this just found out that apparently Ostrovsky is part of a legal team put together by Alan Dershowitz to defend Netanyahu against the ICC warrants26 (though not quite important enough to make it into international press unlike other members of the group27).
Dershowitz was talked of as a potential candidate to defend Israel against the Genocide case in the ICJ in January 2024 but quite understandably dropped28.
In January 2024 the ICJ of course ruled there was a plausible case for genocide that could proceed29 and issued three court orders for interim measures (essentially temporary restraining orders) on Israel’s actions30. All were ignored and to be honest I’m surprised that the ICJ hasn’t spoken out further on this with Israel’s demonstrable genocidal actions in the brazen blockade of Gaza in 2025 rather than just gathering case notes for the future hearing. In the current climate as at May 2025 where many world leaders are changing their tone on Israel’s behaviour - they would do well to revisit the ICJ rulings which they would have issued opaque statements on at best at the time.
Regarding Derschowitz’s ICC arrest warrant defence - even though this appears to be a self-declared pro-bono operation - I wonder why Israel happy for him to defend Netanyahu now? I imagine desperation - plus also a need for keyboard warriors noting the plan is to also “win over the court of public opinion”.
Kind of apt - as is Ostrovsky’s involvement. As with Israel defending itself in public and on TV for the very first time in the 2024 ICJ case - I very much look forward to sitting back with some popcorn and reviewing the arguments put forth for Israel by Dershowitz’s “dream team”.
Think they can put together a reasoned and appealing argument, or will they continue a delaying tactic on technicalities and complex legal points as Israel did between the ICC warrants being announced then issued? During which time another 8,172 Palestinians were killed31.
4.6 Staatsräson be damned
A final tweet from Ostrovsky - and one that it utterly deplorable that quite frankly anyone thinking of employing him in any capacity should consider:
Ostrovsky’s comment on Germany was made in May 2024 - to a country that has supported Israel 100% and with their understandable historical obligations embodied in Merkel’s Staatsräson32.
However - that support only goes so far and the fight against true antisemitism is for a religion and not a country (by definition).
Illustrating this - I note that the German Antisemitism Czar actually refused to attend Israel’s global antisemitism conference in March 2025 … due to the amount of right wing actual antisemites they invited33.
Think about that for a second.
Germany’s top antisemitism official responsible for fighting antisemitism in a country with a special obligation - refuses to attend a “global antisemitism summit in Israel” - due to the amount of right-wing racists and antisemites invited.
I’m “doing an Ostrovsky” here (without the smell of rich mahogany) and pretentiously quoting myself to highlight but…
I can’t think of a more fitting illustration of the difference between a brutal political ideology and a respected global religion - quite literally showing Israel is hiding behind “antisemitism” to achieve its political gains.
Israel’s carefully stage managed grip on the perception of their oft-touted “moral clarity” is slipping.
5. You can’t handle the truth
These incidents stand out - and probably brought data points close to home on their own credibility - never mind the BS Israeli State propaganda they spout daily.
On November 22 2024 the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant and also Deif - the Hamas commander at that time unconfirmed as dead. As a side note - the charges were completely different - so the hysterical cries of outrage about “moral equivalence” were complete bullshit.
Ironically after Fuld’s earlier cheapening of the holocaust through his opportunistic merchandising - he actually had the gall to again invoke this in his tweet on the day the arrest warrants were issued34:
Utterly disgusting.
My reply - having just visited the US National Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington weeks earlier - perhaps touched a nerve35.
Not to be outdone - Ostrovsky took a similar Holocaust invoking approach in his equally despicable tweet36:
The conclusion?
This pair will exploit and say literally anything to defend the indefensible - and clearly they can’t handle the truth.

I had a flash of inspiration for a collective term for the hasbara hustlers.
However I was disarmed by such a genuinely nice photo of the two men - who I’m sure are very pleasant in day-to-day when NOT discussing the Israel/Palestine issue.
Unfortunately using their social media platform to defend the indefensible in their particularly vitriolic way is what their day-to-day consists of - which should be rightly condemned and quite frankly at some point held to account in a court of international law.
These are not a few good men. Arsehill it is.

Reviewing this - for a view on his comments on the Sydney Bondi knife attacks - was how I discovered in a paragraph his involvement in Dershowitz’s team (though as noted, clearly in a minor capacity due to the absence of his name in any world articles with Dershowitz’s team).
It is interesting the review the profile of the man presented in this sympathetic article (understandably for a man educated in Sydney) against the reality his persona revealed in the nature of his advocacy with just some examples in this article.
